The State Akin to Sleep: Feelings and Alpha-Brainwaves
Introduction
In this blog post, I am going to be talking about Neville Goddard's State Akin to Sleep, explaining what exactly this state is, going deeper into how to enter the state akin to sleep at will, and the relevance of this state to the use of the law of assumption and manifestation.
Feeling Truly is the Secret
I remember the first time I first came across Neille Goddard's teachings, it was like a literal light at the end of my tunnel, I was already seeing result from applying the law of attraction at that time, however these results were inconsistent, I had to access to any information and all the resources online were ruminating the same idea in different words, I still feel anxiety during and after setting intentions, I was following all the trends at the time scripting, affirmations, visualizations, the whole nine yards.
Naturally, I wanted to know how the law of attraction works. See, I happen to be the sort of person who likes to know how things work. I'd take apart gadgets that still work fine just to see what makes them tick. As a kid, I tried to get into the fridge to see what happened in there when the doors closed. This was before I discovered the light button by the door. Then I came across this one book back in 2020, it's called The Hermetica - (yeah, I guess I am new to the whole thing), this book had the structure I was looking for, but it still talked about the same things, just had a bit more detail. I had no choice but to resort to more extreme means by my standards at that time. I ventured into the occult in search of esoteric knowledge.

I figure at that time that if the CIA knew about this stuff, then that was verification enough that this stuff was legit, and that would mean people within occult circles had access to the info I needed. What was the mechanism behind the law of attraction? What gears were moving behind the scenes to make the whole manifestation gizmo work? I'd seen proof, I just needed detail.
Seek, and ye shall find, ask and ye shall receive... the path started to appear before me, first I found a bunch of random stuff on higher Chraka (the 7 excluded), then I learned about the arkashic records. I know the algorithm was not just going to hand to me, and there was a lot of ruminated content to steer clear of; it was a chore until I found Earl Nightengale, which led me right to Neville Goddard. The path was a lot more confusing, but I thought I had bugged you enough.
Anyway, this Neville Goddard person had this idea that feeling was the secret, says what I feel is, in a sense, the currency that pays for my thoughts to manifest as real experience in the 3D world. It was literally the missing piece to my manifestation puzzle. Just when I thought it wasn't going to get any better, he started to go on about The State Akin To Sleep. Now I am a total nerd, I look at statistics for fun and would read the terms and conditions just because... so I hope you can appreciate how crucial this moment was to me.
At that time, I was brand new to the whole thing and had been waddling in the dark using a ton of generic YouTube content; this was the first realm breakthrough since The Gateway Project.

So the state akin to sleep is a state of being a person goes into right at the cusp of falling asleep, also they pass through this state when they are waking from sleep, one can find themselves in this state right after a meal, on a long drive, or in the shower. Ding Ding, he shower and drive part hit me with a light bulb moment, see during my books phase I had come across this read by Dr. Joe Dispensa about Breaking The Habit of Being Yourself, and he had gone on about brainwaves, and so it hit me. Surely I can narrow it down to the brainwave, and maybe I can replicate it at will without meditating for 10 minutes.
So I looked up brainwaves and sleep, and I learned that a waking person has beta brainwaves, a person falling asleep has alpha brainwaves, and a person asleep has delta to gamma brainwaves, depending on how deeply they are sleeping.

Alpha Brainwaves: The Gateway To Creation
The State Akin to Sleeo or SATS as Neville Goddard used to refer to it, was simply the alpha brainwaves state, this state is right before one falls asleep where one is relaxed but still alert, eyes are closed naturally and one is detached from external activities and can assume the beta state at a moments notice but get this, you can enter this state doing a bunch of other stuff not just falling alseep. Naturally, I made a list.
- Meditation: basically breathwork, I find that 10 mindful deep breaths does the trick.
- Listening to Brainwave Music: Sound baths, monk chants, frequency sounds - 528Hz is magic.
- Movement: dancing, stretching, and yoga (apparently being zen was not the only way to go about it)
- The Athlete's zone: The infamous flow state.
- Driving and in the shower: technically, that's delta, but the Law isn't picky.
- Daydreaming
And the reason why this is so important is that when a person is in this state, the conscious mind is taking a hiatus and the subconscious mind operates freely taking all that you believe and consent to being true from the stream of thoughts, visuals and images that you entertain in your mind as what you desire and proceeds to manifest them into your 3D experience.

This is the perfect time to start envisioning your "wish fulfilled".
Perfect because the thoughts need to sync with emotion and imagination, or visualization requires a zen atmosphere to be done right. A bit of self-awareness goes a long way.
The best part once you get it right, it doesn't matter if your SATS are happening when you are feeling good, bad, or indifferent. Apparently, all energy is manifestation energy, just be sure to keep focus on what you want as the wish fulfilled.
Let the subconscious mind do the rest.

Notes on How to Handle Resistance
Naturally, when one tries to focus on their wish fulfilled, this is the moment where doubts start to pop up, resistance, as they are popularly called.
How does one navigate around this?
Neville says to power through regardless, but upon looking further into it, I learn from this guy on YouTube about this affirmation exercise that transforms doubt into fuel, which 10Xs your manifestation power.
The idea behind it is to take on this mantra and whenever you feel doubt creeping in, just remain calm where most would tense up or panic... You remain calm, nice, and zen, then you go:
"This is all happening for my benefit, leading to the wish fulfilled."

This tells your subconscious mind, through thick and thin, that all bad, negative, and low vibrational energies, i.e, emotions that show up and the thoughts that go with them, are happening for your benefit. Resistance to that as well is also for your benefit also leading to the wish fulfilled.
The best part is that if you keep it up for give or take 14 to 20 days, it becomes automatic, and you will find yourself responding to negativity in this manner by default. Totally worth it, I promise.
